Throughout my time at Penn State, I was very involved with professional organizations in my field.  Specifically, I maintained active membership in PAS (Percussive Arts Society) and PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association); I also attended many oftheir conventions, conferences, and seminars. I am also a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

In the summer of 2017, I attended the International Katarzyna Mycka Marimba Academy (IKMMA). This particular edition was special as it was the first time the event had been held in the United States, in Arcata, California -- Home of the Marimba One factory. While there, I had the privilege to study under numerous notable percussion artists, teachers, and composers from around the world as well as learn more about the craft of instrument construction from Marimba One founder Ron Samuels. I gained many professional connections with my fellow attendees and am hoping to travel internationally to collaborate and share our art with the local communities.
