Unit Plan
Performance Assessment:
Students are to work in small groups to construct an ABA composition with polyrhythmic texture (using at least 3 different rhythms in this case). Everyone must also improvise for at least 4 measures.
The example to the right shows the group staggering entrances in A, transitioning to B through non-verbal rhythmic cue, improvisation in B, and repetition of the A section.
The ensemble starts, transitions, and ends together successfully and maintains clarity throughout.
