Duties:

• Anchor 5-12 music classes in prescribed concepts according to the Palmyra Area School District curriculum, emphasizing ear training and classroom instrument technique.

• Align 5-12 music classes with the Pennsylvania Department of Education Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities.

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessment, including individual and group response, performance/improvisation, and creative projects.

• Selected and rehearsed appropriate repertoire for three concert ensembles

• Taught 5th-8th grade students fundamental musical concepts in small group lessons

• Assisted in the organization and direction of the marching band at sporting events

• Designed lessons and activities on Romantic, Classical, and Modern Music History

• Guided vocal warm-ups and rote musical activities

• Taught basic chords for piano, guitar, and composition techniques
